Canmere:
Canmere is a relatively normal town that sits between two forks of a river. The buildings are wooden, the people are generally miserable and the whole place is owned by Lord Aneghon, a merchant noble that made his name and fortune in the logging industry. It is said that he hired a personal army of mercenaries to come north with him to clear out the surrounding region of all manner of beasts and monsters. In exchange for extending the reach of civilization, he was granted a noble title and all the land he had worked so hard to clear. His army settled down and traded swords and shields for plows and axes.
Harpy Hill:
Harpy hill is the site of an old mott and bailey keep. The hill sports the ruined tower of an ancient age and is haunted by a group of vulture women known as harpies. They are known to periodically raid local farms for their livestock and it is said they capture men with magical song, luring them to gruesome mating rituals and fiery death.
